Cruise terminal witnesses chaos again over passenger transportation

MPT Cruise terminal on Wednesday witnessed chaotic moments after taxi owners confronted the shipping agent for not allowing them to transport passengers disembarking from the cruise liner.

Taxi drivers got upset and showed their ire that agents have kept over 58 buses to carry over 1600 passengers from the expected 1950 passengers arriving by the ship. However, later they relented as tourists should not be affected and allowed the coaches to take out the passengers on an assurance that a meeting would be convened to ensure that coaches and taxis get equal opportunity.
