The government has decided to close the three and a half kilometer road from Kutthali junction to Verna industrial estate. All the traffic would be diverted from Vasco, Chicalim, air port road. 18 kilometers additional. And this arrangement may continue for one long year. In typical Goan style, it's going to be Fatorpechyan Goem Lagim. Watch it and be prepared to face it.
Even Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha has confirmed it.
And also the traffic police. It's because the contractor of Zuari bridge has to place to the girders on the pillars built from Kutthali circle to the Toyota Show Room at Verna. Watch what Vasco Traffic police inspector Roy Periera is saying about it.
BJP MLA of Kutthali Alina Saldanha has also agreed to this plan. In fact she is busy finding alternate roads and arrangement to control the additional traffic on Cortalim-Vasco road.
Sancoale sarpanch Girish Pillay is asking how the traffic police would control this additional traffic.
The bottleneck at Kutthali junction has become a major headache for the people traveling on Panaji-Madgao road.
Traffic jam on this busiest road of Goa has become a daily affair.
According to police, 70 vehicles ply on this road every minute.
It means even if we calculate 12 busy hours from 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening, it comes to over 50 thousand vehicles.
Let us wish all of us a happy journey from Margao to Panaji, when this plan starts.
