The Congress has demanded that a retired judge should head the internal inquiry into the lapses in the FDA reports alleging pressure on officers in the FDA.

GPCC president Girish Chodankar said that the Congress was ready to debate with the Health Minister on the Formalin issue.

He also said that he would write to the government cleared agencies that had developed the formalin checking kits to come down to the state and debate with the minister on the veracity of the kits.

Girish Chodankar was reacting to the outburst of the Health Minister after the Congress had conducted Formalin checks outside the Margao market.

Girish asked why Vishwajit was attacking him and how his getting elected or no one was connected to formalin in fish
