By then will come Goa’s fish fresh as local fish ban would be lifted.
But what about imported fish after 15 days? Even Parrikar doesn’t know.
He wants FDA to get prepared with its mechanism to check Formalin in the next 15 days.
Majority Goans had stopped buying fish after Formalin was found in imported fish last Thursday. That was the first and last check by the Food and Drugs Administration.Parrikar now admits that FDA has not full mechanism to check formalin at all the border points. He has thus banned the import and told the FDA to get prepared with its full mechanism.
And if you still have a doubt whether formalin was present in the fish on the day of raids, well Chief Minister has shut doors for this question to be answered.
In a way, this could also be a counter to opposition’s target in the house. Not just fish, now onwards fruits and vegetables imported in Goa are will be scanner for quality.
But what after 15 days?
Though Chief Minister insists that post 15 days we won’t need the fish that’s imported from other states but who would give the certificate of guarantee that local fish won’t be mixed with the imported?
