10-Day deadline to withdraw CRZ draft notification

The objections to CRZ draft notification will definitely ring in the upcoming assembly session. A day before 12-day session Congress along with NGOs like Goencho Raponkarancho Ekvott met CRZ officials.

Dissatisfied with the answers given by the officials, now NGOs have set 10-deadline to withdraw a draft notification that they call hazardous to Goan coastline. 

The state government has given its nod to the Union Ministry of Environment draft CRZ notification 2018.

While fisherfolks including Raponnkarancho Ekvott & Shack owners association have opposed it for reducing the CRZ area, measured from High Tide Line, from the current 200 metres to just 50 metres.

They claim that it fails to uphold the rights of traditional fishermen.
