Youth Congress gherao Bicholim Asst Engineer over power failures

Bicholim locals supported by Youth Congress gheraoed Assistant Engineer of the Electricity Department in Bicholim because of the frequent power failures during the Ganesh Chaturthi. However, the Assistant Engineer said lack of staff in Bicholim electricity substation has added to the woes of power failures.
Youth Congress President Varad Mardolkar said the Assistant Engineer has given an assurance that proper power supply will be restored this month.
Assistant Engineer of Bicholim substation Deepak Gawas admitted that there was a lack of staff at the sub station and that is the main reason that some problems occurred.
