Water pipe bursts on NH17 at Nuvem

A water pipe burst at Nuvem near Carmel College on Saturday. Such incidents have become common nowadays. Locals say many of the water pipes are corroded and burst whenever there is extra water pressure. They say It is time to replace these old, corroded pipes..

When PWD Junior Engineer Krishna Naik reached the site he could not figure out whether it is PWD water pipe that burst or a domestic connection line.

Since the pipe burst right in the middle of the national highway, police had to block the traffic on one side of the road. This resulted into slowing down the traffic flow.
