Debris has been dumped into Water canals and water bodies in Velsaodue to the ongoing double tracking work, activists and opposition alleged today. Local activists, who have been at the forefront of the fight against double tracking,

have warned of the danger this poses to the village of Velsao, especially withmonsoons round the corner.

Canals, which are responsible for draining water into the ocean, have been covered in mud and debris. And officials from the biodiversity committee have warned that Velsao could face life threatening flooding come the monsoons.
