Vasco: MMC identifies 32 dilapidated buildings, residents refuse to move

The Chief Officer of Mormugao Municipal Council Agnelo Fernandes on Wednesday said that the council had served notices to six building which were declared unsafe asking residents to evacuate the premises.

The six-building are Pushpanjali housing society, Happy apartment, Shridhar building, Ace building, Gosalia building and Premavati building.

The MMC has identified a total of 32 as being unsafe buildings.

But residents are still occupying these premises inspite of notices being served.

So the MMC has written to National Disaster Management to take necessary action in order to avoid any disasters.
