Unknown person erect Shivaji Statue overnight at Tisk Usgao

 People of Usgao were surprised to see almost one-metre tall concrete statue suddenly appearing at Tisk Usgao junction overnight.Without any decision and without anybody’s knowledge.

The junction on which the statue was erected was a busy one. Three roads intersect at this junction: one going towards Bicholim, one going towards Belgaum and one towards Ponda.

Sarpanch of Usgao Ankita Gaude said she was not aware who had erected this statue here. She said that the Panchayat had not given any NOC to erect the statue.

Later on Usgao, Bazarkar locals along with Ganesh Festival Committee member held a meeting on the issue. The members decided not to remove the statue.

Infact now it has been decided that a life size statue will be erected to replace an existing one.

The Committee was also formed under Chairmanship of Naresh Naik and decided to obtain permission from PWD and other Department to install statue on permanent basis.
