Take action against firms releasing waste water in the open, demand Cuncolim locals

Cuncolim locals have demanded that action be taken against firms releasing their waste water in the open. Locals alleged that fish mill industry have low capacity tanks to store waste water and as a result they discharge their excess waste water in the open. Later, they firms dug up bore well to discharge sewage, due to which their canals and wells became heavily polluted. Few days back, Goa State Pollution Board had raided such firms in the Cuncolim IDC.

Local councillor Shashank Dessai who also happens to be the brother-in-law of Chief Minister urged not to play politics on the pollution.
