Speaker prepones MLA disqualification order to April 20th

The Supreme Court has listed the matter of the disqualification of the 10 Congress MLAs who shifted to the BJP for April 21st . It had asked Goa Speaker Rajesh Patnekar to prepone his order to April 20th.

The Speaker after the final hearing had initially said that  the order would be pronounced on April 29th . The  Supreme Court Bench led by Chief Justice on Tuesday heard the plea filed by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Girish Chodankar seeking direction to Goa Assembly Speaker to expeditiously dispose of disqualification. The disqualification petition has been  filed against 10 MLAs who moved from Congress to BJP in 2019.
