Police raid a slaughterhouse: But was it illegal?

At least 400 kg of meat was seized by police from a slaughterhouse at Nagzarwada in Bicholim, on the charge that it’s illegal. But meat traders association says it was a legal import from neighbouring state.

It’s the story that needs a thorough probe, because of claims and counterclaims. The Animal Rescue team along with Bicholim police on Friday raided a slaughterhouse at Nagzarwada in Bicholim.

The team alleges they found 3 bulls being illegally slaughtered near 400kg meat.

But was it illegal in the first place? Meat trader association claims it was an import with a proper legal license.
