Old Goa Heritage site in danger of losing status: AAP

AAP said there is  fear that Unesco could downgrade the status of the place as  buildings are coming up all around the site.

AAP Goa convenor Elvis Gomes said 100 metres around the World Heritage site is complete no development zone while another 300 metres area is regulated zone.

He said there is Archaeological Survey of India, the National Protection of Monuments Act and the National Protection of Monuments Authority are there to protect the monuments.

Elvis said the government should take steps to protect the monuments and heritage of the state.
