Mandrem Gram Sabha heats up over illegal structures, garbage: WATCH || GOA365

The Mandrem gram sabha on Thursday saw heated arguments after several concerning issues such as drinking water, illegal constructions in the area, garbage, and migrants settling anywhere in the village were brought up for discussion.

The panchayat should take steps to bring checks on illegal constructions in the area with the support of the police, said Shahapurkar.

Many new projects in the village have created water problems. However, the sarpanch has demanded from the government, TCP and panchayat should jointly inspect the properties and then give technical approval as the property owner has to go through several departments to get approval for the project.
