Illegal tourist information centerrun by ‘non-goan’ irks Cavelossim locals

A new tourist information center has caused a stir amongst the locals for being illegally opened on Cavelossim beach. The information desk has also been reportedly given to non-goans to run. Does the government care about the interests of the Goans? Why are the villagers not informed about new projects and schemes before they are implemented in the village? Locals have questioned.

 Locals were shocked to learn that the center is run by a man from outside Goa, forcing locals to question the government as to why goans were not given priority. Locals brought the matter to the attention of the MLA who has promised to find a solution.

Locals say many projects come up in the area, but aren’t aware as to what is happening in the village. Locals have decided to oppose such projects that are being imposed upon the village without taking them into confidence. Listen.

Both, local MLA Venzi Viegas and Sarpanch Dixon Vaz opposed the government’s move of implementing the project without taking locals into confidence. Development is needed, but not by undermining the villagers, the local representatives charged.
