Has coal handling by GSW really stopped?

Vasco is receiving coal in spite of suspending the consent to bring more coal. The consent of JSW was suspended on Monday since it had already brought more amount of coal than what was permitted.

But now a complaint has been made to the Goa State Pollution Control Board that the company is still bringing more coal.

The Goa State Pollution Control had given JSW 15 days to remove all the excess coal from the berth. A board representative was supposed to be stationed on site to ensure that the same was done.

Chairperson of the pollution control board Ganesh Shetgaokar had told this to Goa 365 on Monday. The Niz Goenkar Revolution Front now alleges that these directives have been violated by the company.

The front alleged that there was collusion between the government, pollution authorities and the company.
