Guirdolim Lake filling: permanent solution only after rains

The Railways will make temporary arrangements till the monsoon and then will look to build a wall so as to ensure a permanent solution, South Collector Ajit Roy said after an inspection of the Guirdolim lake mud filling on Tuesday.

Locals were up in arms after the work of double tracking of the railway lines had resulted in mud being dumped into the Guirdolim work.

Upset locals backed by the Local MLA had threatened to come out on the streets and stop the work if this was not rectified.
