Concerned citizens of Goa protested against the brutal killings of twelve protestors of the anti- Sterlite agitation by police in Tamil Nadu’s Tuticorin district.

The protest was held outside Vedanta’s office in Panaji on Saturday.

This week on Tuesday, May 22nd, it was a national outrage as 12 protesters were killed and over 60 injured in police firing during a protest against the planned expansion of a copper smelting plant in the coastal town of Tamil Nadu Tuticorin.

The protests were going on for over three months, but violence first erupted on Tuesday with agitators fighting pitched battles with police, prompting it to open fire.

A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a court-monitored CBI probe into deaths of protesters during the anti-Sterlite rally.
