Cong & NGO opposes night shift for women

Congress along with NGO Savera has opposed the government's decision to allow women to work during night shifts. Congress alleged that women are not safe during the day and now the government wants them to work during the night. Congress has demanded to make security arrangement for the women working in night first and then make them work.
Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress president Pratima Couthino says that night shifts should not be made compulsory for women. It should be decided by the women to work or not.
If women is working in the night shifts then the government should arrange them transport facilities and install CCTV in working premises.
While NGO Savera president Tara Kerkar said there are no proper toilets in factories and committee for sexual harassment. She also slammed women organizations who have supported this move.
