Chorao mundkars threathen to protest if lands are not made in their name

Landlords still dominate Chorao dispite all laws and, rules and rhethoric. The tenants who used to guard the lands as now mere watchmen. Transfer land into the names of tenants mentioned in the other rights of 1/14 form. Or else face protest, villagers from Madel-Chorao have threatened.



Chorao villagers and kul mundkars association on Thursday submitted a memorandum to NorthGoa collector Ajit Roy to transfer the land in the names of locals. There 8 houses of mundkar in Choraos 12,000 square meters land. The land is being sold at cost of 2.40 crore rupees.

The developer has started making plots without taking locals into confidence. As a result Chorao villagers are furious. They say that they wont allow land grabbing activities without following legal procedures. Listen to them. 

  Choraos mundkar and tenant are felling insecure. Encroachment has started in their plantations. They are being converted into plots and sold. Locals and land developers clashed over the issue. Watch the controversy.
