Cable removal: Operators request Margao municipality 3 months time to put things in order

11 Oct 2018 05:54 PM

Cable operators in Margao have expressed their concern over Margao Municipal Council’s drive of cutting down overhead cables.

They have requested the council to give them 3 month’s time to put things in place.

The Cable Operators Association submitted memorandum to the MMC on the issue.

MMC had issued notices to these cable operators regarding overhead cables in the city and suburban areas.

And after they failed to reply, MMC had cut down the cables.

Operators had gone to meet the chief officer. But as he was unavailable, they submitted a memorandum to the MMC.

However, Cable Operator Atul Verlekar admitted that overhead cables were put up haphazardly and that internet cables were adding to the problem.

Meanwhile, Chief Officer of Margao Municipal Council said that he will go through the memorandum, and examine it in detail.

He said that the Council wants this business to run but in a proper manner.
