BROKEN MAST LIGHTS THREATEN CHILDREN’S LIVES

A high mast lamp installed on the playground of Government High School, Salcete, has become a threat to school children who use the ground. All light fixtures installed on the mast have broken some 6 months ago and are in danger of falling down. Locals have tied up the lights to prevent them from falling on those passing by.

The playground at Government High School, Salcete was fitted with a high mast lamp a few months ago. Shortly after, all light fixtures on the mast broke off and now locals worry for the safety of their children who use the grounds. They say that the poorly maintained mast could fall any day and is putting their children’s lives to risk. Here’s what Devidas Chari, a local residing in the areas has to say.
