The Government spends crores of rupees on developmental projects in the state. But fails to maintain the projects after their completion. The bypass road in Ponda is a prime example of this, with an entire highway left in the dark despite the presence of light poles.

The problem of street cattle on the roads of Ponda is not new However, due to the lack of proper street lighting in these areas, accidents are witnessed quite too often. Locals have demanded that the government act before more people and cattle fall victim to the roads.
