Traders body Amchi Vyapar Sanghatana has demanded that the hawkers should be evicted from the footpath opposite Ponda Municipal market. They complain that the encroachment by roadside vendors creates traffic and parking problems. Ponda Municipal Chief Officer has however assured them to solve the issue by next week.

Amchi Vyapar Sanghatana has filed a written complaint with the civic body stating that vegetable, flower and fruit vendors encroach the footpath on daily basis. Most of them even block the entrance to the municipal market.

During market days on Wednesdays and Saturdays the vendors from nearby villages of Savoi-Verem, Keri, Nirankal, Bethora sell their commodities on THE footpath.
