He alleged that the light poles costing 70,000 rupees are bought at 2 lakh rupees and fitting cost is 1.50 lakh. Congress has decided to approach vigilance department in this regard.

Girish has also demanded the total cost of the bridge along with escalated cost. Congress has boycotted the third Mandovi bridge inauguration.Barely few hours before inauguration of the signature third Mandovi bridge, the Congress called third Mandovi bridge is a source of corruption. GPCC president Girish Chodankar said there was no need to spend money to construct third Mandovi bridge as many social schemes and other projects are pending due to lack of funds.

Chodankar alleged that the lights are bought by the close relative of Manohar Parrikar and GSIDC vice-chairmen Siddharth Kuncolikar was also involved in it. There was no tendering process of lights and no quotation.

Girish still feels that bridge is incomplete and is inaugurated in hurry.

Opposition leader Babu Kavlekar said Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had assured to take 25 crore rupees of development work in each constituency.But he pr ioritized third Mandovi bridge.

Kavlekar was hoping that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would come for inauguration and would address the issues of mining dependents.
