In a recent turn of events, the United States and the United Kingdom conducted joint military strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen. The strikes, which were carried out early on Sunday, came in response to the imminent threat posed by Houthi anti-ship cruise missile prepared to launch against ships in the Red Sea, said the U.S.

In a statement issued by the U.S, officials have confirmed that U.S. Central Command Forces, in collaboration with UK Armed Forces and with the support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, and the New Zealand, carried out precision strikes against 36 Houthi targets at 13 locations in Iranian-backed Houthi-controlled area of Yemen.

The strikes targeted underground storage facilities, command and control, missile systems, UAV storage and operation sites, radars, and Helicopters used by Houthi rebels in their ongoing attacks against international merchant vessels in the Red Sea, Bab Al-Mandeb Strait, and the Gulf of Aden.
