The Congress leaders have been issuing denials.

But the rumors are being fuelled as there are reports that certain MLAs have met their supporters to test the waters in some cases and in other cases to elicit support from their supporters.

Meanwhile, Dayanand Sopte, who earlier defected from Congress and won on a BJP ticket GTDC the chairmanship has been confirmed.

Cuncolim Constituency Congress block President Landre Mascarenhas has said he would not support the MLA if he joins the BJP. Landre said he is with the Congress party and urged Congressmen to have faith in the party.

However, some Congress workers feel that Clafacio will not cross over to BJP.

Another issue of another Congress MLA came up. This time it is about St Andre Francis Silveira. On Tuesday, BJP karyakartas from the constituency came to meet the state BJP president and submit a letter to him opposing his entry into the party.

The letter alleges that there has been constant campaigning by the Congress MLA and his supporters that they are going to join the BJP.
