Goa to be hit by gusty winds, thunderstorms

A tropical storm is headed for Gujarat. The aftermath was felt in Goa on Monday. The met department has also warned that the state will witness gusty winds and heavy rainfall and thunderstorm in the next 24 hours. Rising water levels were already witnessed in the state. Fishermen have also been warned about the waves.



Meteorology Department Goa In-charge, Dr. Krishnamurty Padgalwar told Goa 365 that the cyclonic storm is heading towards Gujarat. The storm is parallel to Goa. South Goa has got rainfall but its effect would get severe later.


The winds will hit Goa 55 km per hour. Goa already witnessed gusty winds and the sea water level has risen. The cyclone has already started showing its effect.


A car was partly submerged park at ferry wharf in Panaji after there was a rise in sea water level.
