BJP retaliates, reasons over delay in inaugurating new Zuari bridge

After drawing flak over the delay in inaugurating the new Zuari Bridge, the BJP today came out to provide its side of the story. The party held a press conference in Curchorem where they stated that the delay was only of a mere 2-3 daysbecause the Union minister for roads, Nitin Gadkari was unable to attend the function.

The saffron party reasoned that the delay in throwing the bridge open for traffic was a mere 3 days and not months. The party also threw shade at the Congress and opposition parties, stating that such similar multi-crore projects are being opened quite regularly around the country which is why it was hard for union minister of Roads and transport Nitin Gadkari to schedule his trip to Goa on the 26^th.

The new bridge is undoubtedly set to regulate traffic, be it heavy cargo vehicles or daily commuters. However, over the past 3 days, the traffic chaos witnessed at Agacaim and Cortalim has drawn major flak from the opposition and citizens. Traffic snarls ensued after Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant threw open the bridge for ‘Selfies and sightseeing’ for tourists and locals alike.
