ZP elections on 22 March, 23 counting; code of conduct laggoo: SEC

Eight lakhs twenty nine thousand eight hundred and seventy six thousand goans will vote in the Zilla Panchayat polls on 22rd of March. The Code of Conduct has come into force from today, Friday morning itself, the State Election Commission announced. Counting will take place on 23rd of March. Reservations too have been notified.



The Nomination process will start from 27th of  February to 5th of March.   In north the electorate will number 4,18,225 out of which 2,13, 995 are women. In south the voters will number 4,11,651 out of which 2,11,610 are women.  Voters will vote at 1237 polling stations – 641 in the north and 596 from south.

Reservations for various categories too have been notified. One seat has been reserved for ST, 14 for OBC and 6 seats are kept aside for ST.
