INVEST LEAVING THE STATE DUE TO DISRUPTION

The power issues faced byindustries were hotly debated in the assembly with theTamnar project coming into the picture. The government has purchased power but hasn’t given any to the industries, Goa Forward MLA VijaiSardesai charged.



However, Power Minister SudinDhavlikar refuted the allegation stating that they are getting additional power while also admittingto the interruptions.

 Vijai alleged that industries have been exiting the state due to power disruptions. The government must compensate them forlosses suffered due to power outages. Sudin replied that there is enough power and that to ensure smooth supply,

the power infrastructure in Verna and Kundaim industrial estate would be upgraded. A new tender will be floated for a new substation in Verna Industrial Estate within six months he further added.

Vijaimeanwhile sarcastically suggested that Sudin follow the Sahajahan model of Govind Gaude to float a contract for power infrastructure, after whichSudin replied that there is no such thing and there is a procedure that needs to be followed.

Uproar was witnessed in the house after Chief Minister alleged that Goa is suffering power scarcity sinceTamnar Project is being opposed on the pretext of coal.
