IAF to debut in military tri-service exercise hosted by Egypt || ENGLISH || GOA365

In a first, the Indian Air Force is participating in exercise Bright Star-23 which is a biennial multilateral tri service exercise taking place from 27th August till September 16 at the Egyptian capital of Cairo. The participation is also being looked at as a new chapter of cooperation and collaboration among nations.

Exercise Bright Star-23 gathers nations like United States of America, Saudi Arabia, Greece and Qatar. The Indian contingent for the exercise comprise of five MiG-29 aircrafts, two IL-78 aircrafts, two C-130 aircrafts, and two C-17 aircrafts.

In addition to these aircrafts, personnel from the IAF’s distinguished Garud Special Forces and members of the 28, 77, 78, and 81 Squadrons will be actively participating. The IAF’s transport aircraft will play a pivotal role in airlifting approximately 150 personnel from the Indian Army, showcasing the integrated efforts of different branches of the Indian Armed Forces.
