Displaced people of Selaulim struggling for a drop of water

The whole of South Goa gets regular water supply because of Selaulim dam in Sanguem.

But those whose villages who lost their land for their dam tp come up are facing huge water problem. In many cases they are struggling to even get a drop of water. These people from Vaddem-Kurti took out a morcha on Friday to the PWD office of Sanguem. This is not a single instance. People from Kajuwaddo in Balli are also walking over four kilometres to fetch water.

People of Kurdi and other villages were displaced due to Selaulim dam. They have wells, but not where they live.

And their frequent requests to the PWD are falling on deaf ears. They are demanding minimum water for their primary day-to-day needs.

And in Balli at Kajuwaddo, all the wells go dry during summer season. Water supplied in tankers is not enough. And they have to walk four kilometres to fetch water.
