CM meets Ministers, MLA on budget, Zilla elections; Cong to fight ZP on party lines this time

The chief minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said that preparations for the zilla panchayat elections and budget were discussed with ministers and MLAs at the meeting held today. He said that the finance commission would be in the state for the next couple of days and he along with the cabinet would be meeting them on 23 January.

Sawant will present budget the next month, during the five-day budget session beginning on 3rd of February. He met the party MLAs on Wednesday to discuss about the budget as well as forthcoming zilla panchayat elections. However, date when the budget would be presented has not been finalised he said.   

This time the Congress will fight the ZP elections after boycotting it last time. GPCC president Girish Chodankar said that this exercise will help the Congress in getting their election machinery greased  to get ready for the assembly polls.
