Ponda Municipal Council withdraws Sopo Tax

Ponda Municipal Council approved its surplus budget for the Financial Year 2018-19 worth Rs 36,16,5000 which is surplus by 17 lakhs.
PMC has decided to put an end to the controversial sopo tax that was introduced in 2014-15.
The cases against Sopo contractor that were filed for recovery of sopo tax dues will be withdrawn.
It has also decided to wave off the arrears and refund security deposit.
