PM Modi addresses Parliaments ‘Historic’ special session, reflects on parliaments 75 year journey||ENGLISH||GOA365

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed the Special Parliamentary session. The 5-day session will move to the newly built Parliament House on Tuesday. A total of 8 bills are scheduled to be discussed in the session including a bill on the appointment of chief election commissioner and election commissioners.



The Parliament's 5-day special session began today with a discussion on the parliament’s 75 year journey. Monday’s session will be the last parliamentary session in the British-built parliamentary house and the sitting will move to the new building complex on Tuesday.

PM Modi stated that the increasing confidence of citizens in the legislative body was the most significant achievement in the parliament’s 75-year history as he bid adieu to the old parliamentary complex.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his experience upon entering the Parliament building for the first time. While reflecting on the past 75 years, he remembered Jawaharlal Nehru’s iconic “at the stroke of midnight” speech,

highlighting its enduring inspiration for the nation. PM Modi went on to laud the success of India’s G20 presidency saying, “it is a result of collective efforts and that the success doesn’t belong to a single party”.
