Rains might shut Balli highway: locals fear

Rains could shut the highway at Balli, villagers fear. They say that if heavy rains continues to come down for the next four days the National Highway at Balli may get completely submerged. They fear that their houses and shops along the highway would get flooded.

There are no signs of issues of Goan roads and gutters getting solved. The flooding in almost all areas in the state year after year has been the same. People have been suffering year after year. This year too they are complaining that they asked that the the roads and gutters be done up before monsoon.

But look like, just like the previous years authorities were asleep at that time. Now,  it is impossible to take up these works during rains. These are the visuals from Balli. These are shops at Char Rasta.

And alongside the road there is a pond. But this is not a real pond but gutters. They are overflowing in the rains. Now, shopkeepers and motorists are waiting for rains to get over so they can get relief from this mess.
