Be ready to face life-threatening disasters, Power Secy appeals fire fighters

Secretary for power Puneet Kumar Goel congratulated Goan fire fighters for responding for more than 8000 emergency call in the year 2019. He also appealed the fire fighters to remain prepared for life-threatening disasters.

Puneet Kumar Goel was speaking during 32^nd Annual Inspection Day Parade by Fire and Emergency Services at Panaji.

He took a review of the parade along with director of fire and emergency service Ashok Menon.

He said huge turnout at parade by fire fighters shows the state of preparedness by fire department.

Winners of drill competitions were awarded on the occasion.

Our fire fighters have done commendable job in saving our lives and properties.

Fire department informed in the year 2019 fire department attended 8775 emergency calls.

Out of which fire fighters responded to 3061 cases of fire and 5714 emergency calls.

Fire fighters save 326 human lives and 594 animal lives due to their timely action.

Fire department also evacuated and rescued 183 people stuck in the recent floods.
