From Jan 1st, it’s mandatory to carry DDSSY to avail benefits

From 1st of January 2018 DDSSY cards will be mandatory for patients from Goa for availing services at GMC. Although the patients from outside Goa will have to pay the nominal rates as treatment charges, the government will also consider waiving off the payment in case the patient is genuinely poor.



 Goa Govt makes DDSSY card mandatory for Goans in Govt hospitals from Jan 1. In case you are not registered under DDSSY, then you need to carry identity cards. Non-Goan will be charged 20% in GMCs however, in-case of critical situations and economical conditions, health minister said there could be relaxations.


 The Goa Medical College and Hospital is categorized as ‘A’ Grade hospital however the authorities have decided only charge only 20% of rates for hospitals under grade ‘C’. Not just this,


in order to streamline expenses under the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana, a government health insurance scheme has made it mandatory for the private hospitals empanelled under the scheme to take a written feedback from the beneficiary on discharge.
