Amid scorching temperatures, the Election Commission of India has taken steps to ensure the safety of voters during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. The Election Commission of India has called for a review of the heatwave's impact and constituted a task force to assess the situation five days before each polling phase.

The ECI stated that for Friday's second phase, the Indian Meteorological Department has indicated that there is no major concern regarding the heatwave, and the weather forecast is normal.Among the key decisions taken, the ECI announced the formation of a task force comprising officials from the poll panel, IMD, National Disaster Management Authorityand Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
