Congress Manifesto Unveiled: Key Highlights for 2024 Lok Sabha Election || GOA365

Led by party leader Mallikarjun Kharge, the manifesto promises to focus on work, wealth, and welfare. It pledges to conduct a nationwide caste census and raise the quota cap for marginalized groups. The Congress also vows to implement a minimum support price for farmers and eliminate poverty by uplifting 23 crore people over the next decade.

Additionally, the manifesto pledges universal free healthcare and introduces assisted living and care centers for disabled individuals. It also proposes to write off all student educational loans and recognize civil unions for LGBTQIA+ couples. Furthermore, the Congress promises to combine the efficiency of EVMs with the transparency of ballot papers for fair elections.

With the election scheduled over seven phases starting April 19 and results expected by June 4, the Congress presents a formidable challenge to the ruling BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP are yet to release their manifesto, as they aim for a third consecutive term amidst a united opposition under the INDIA banner, led by the Congress.
