SadanandShetTanavade has filed his nomination for the lone RajyaSabha seat in Goa as a BJP candidate. The BJP Goa Unit president, remains confident of his victory, and says he will even request the opposition MLAs to vote for him

 With RajyaSabha elections inching closer, BJP’s State Unit President filed him nomination before Returning Officer NamrataUlman at the Goa Assembly Complex, in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. PramodSawant and other MLAs. The BJP and its allies have 33 MLAs in the 40 member Goa-Assembly, while opposition Congress has three, AAP two, and Goa Forward & Revolutionary Goans one each.

: Opposition leaders have come together to form the ‘United 7’ group, to represent their joint opposition against the BJP. The leaders were asked whether an opposition MLA would file their nomination for the RajyaSabha seat. But Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, says no final decision has been made yet.
