PM INAUGURATES RAILWAY ELECTRIFICATION

The electrification of the Konkan Railway will not only save Rs 150 crore on diesel but will lower the threat to the environment. Not only will the trains save fuel but they will also reduce pollution significantly, Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral said

during the launch of 100% electrification of the Konkan Railway. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated this electrification.  

The Prime Minister dedicated the '100% electrification of Konkan Railway' line to the nation. Union Minister Shripad Naik, Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, Margao Chairperson Lindon Pereira and others were present. Prime Minister addressed the gathering via video conferencing.
