Bus fare hiked, Pvt buses refuse to accept

But private bus owners have refused to accept it.
They don’t want more hike, but to change the same pattern with some changes. They have thus decided not to charge hiked fare to the passengers.
But Kadamba Transport Corporation has already started charging the hiked fare.
Directorate of Transport issued a notification of a new bus fare hike on Tuesday. The fare was 8 rupees for the first 3 kms.
Now it would be 10 rupees for the first 4 kms.
And rates were different for further stages.
This has been rationalized and brought to 5 rupees for every 8 kms. Similarly, Kadamba’s shuttle buses would now cost 1 rupee 20 paise per km & airconditioned buses would cost 1 rupee 25 paise per km.
And yes, the 50 per cent bus concession for bonafide students would continue.
BUS FARE HIKE
General buses
First 4 kms Rs 10/-
Every 8 kms Rs 5/-
KTC Shuttle Rs 1.20/km
KTC A/C Rs 1.25/km
Students 50% concession
This new pattern however is not acceptable to the private bus owners.
Their president Sudip Tamhankar told Goa365 that no private bus would charge the new fare.
They want government to implement their demands.
Because this fare hike is not a hike on short routes.
