A snooker player who represented Goa in the National Games has been arrested for 6 burglaries and bike thefts. Thirty-year-old Suleman Shaikh from New Vaddem, Vasco along with another accomplice, 30-year-old



ShabbirsahebShadavali residing at Ambaji, Fatorda, originally from Gadag, Karnataka were arrested by the Porvorim police, North Goa SP NidhinValson said today.

The duo was nabbed after monitoring CCTVs of almost 50 locations. According to the police, gold weighing 162 grams worth Rs 8.50 lakh, Rs 6 lakh gold kept as mortgage in many gold finance firms,

2 stolen scooters – one stolen from Porvorim and the other from Navelim, Margao have been seized. During the search of ShabbirsahedShadavali’s residence at Fatorda, police seized high-end articles used for melting and casting gold, and diamond detection kits worth around a lakh.
