Lackadaisical cops in Anjuna case to be Suspended: CM

Goa Chief Minister today came down heavily on the cops who failed to build a strong case in the Anjuna Assault case. Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant also asked tourists visiting the state, not to take law in their own hands

After a few tourists were seriously assaulted and beaten up at an Ajuna resort, the CM Dr Sawant has said that all those involved have been booked and said that errant cops involved, will be suspended.

The CM who also holds the home portfolio, also said that other stakeholders and hoteliers will need to be responsible too henceforth.
 

All hotels will have to be registered compulsorily
                         -Hotel managers will have to share responsibility
                        - All support to be given to local stakeholders
                        - Local Emergency numbers will be shared with tourists
                        - Quality tourists to be brought in
                        - Music timings will have to be enforced strictly especially during Board exams

The Chief Minister also reacted to a viral video where tourists were seen hitting the guards posted outside the Old Goa Basilica. He remarked that a non-cognizable offence has been filed and strict action will be ensured against them.
