Goa Customs seizes gold bars worth 57 lakh upees at Dabolim

Goa Customs seized gold bars weighing 1,538 grams valued at 57.67 lakh rupees from a passenger at Dabolim airport on Monday. The passenger, a native of Karnataka, had arrived from Dubai via Muscat by Oman Air Flight.



Officers of Goa Customs apprehended the international passenger Mohammed Ayub. Ayub hails  from Bhatkal in Karnataka. The officers  recovered the gold bars that were concealed in the baggage of the passanger.

The gold has been seized under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962. On Sunday last,  officers of Air Intelligence had seized 3 gold bars weighing 2,976 grams and valued at  1.11 crore rupees  from a toilet of Air India aircraft.
