As the world limps back to normalcy, Goa tourism too is on the up. However, many incidents happening on the world famous coastal belt have once again brought under the spotlight the seamy underbelly of the state’s tourism industry.

 Tthe unholy nexus of drugs and police backed by political forces had first come under the scanner with the British teen Scarlett Keeling’s brutal murder in Anjuna.

In a horrific incident a family from Delhi was attacked with swords and knives. Anjuna police initially filed a FIR but with some loose clauses. Only after the victimsvideo describing the incident went viral on Instagram did police swing into action. The Police have now made four arrests and suspended the investigating officer.

The family of Instagram fitness model Jatin Sharma has appealed over their social media account not to visit Goa.

The incident occurred on March 5th and police only acted after the video of the assault, which was uploaded on 11 March, went viral.

On Sunday night Anjuna police arrested Royston Reginaldo Dias alias Roshan, NyronReginaldo Dias, KashinathVishvorAgarqadekaer all from Anjuna after tracing them from the resorts CCTV footage. And on Monday morning the fourth accused Joseph Lobo from Anjuna was arrested.
