SC Grants AAP Leader Sanjay Singh Bail in Alleged Delhi Excise Scam Case||GOA365

Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi MP Sanjay Singh has been granted bail by the Supreme Court in a money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. Singh, who was arrested in October 2023, received bail after the Enforcement Directorate did not object to his release.

Responding to the bail grant, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj stated that the Supreme Court's verdict exposes the ED's weak case, allegedly influenced by the BJP. He revealed that the court questioned the ED's acceptance of one statement against Sanjay Singh while rejecting ten others,

ultimately leading to Singh's imprisonment. The ED could not answer the court's inquiry about the recovery of any funds. Bhardwaj added that the Supreme Court noted the absence of a money trail or recoveries in the case.

Delhi Minister Atishi echoed Bhardwaj's views, highlighting the allegedly false cases faced by AAP leaders in recent years. Atishi claimed that during Singh's bail petition, it became evident that the ED's case revolved around pressured statements from approvers. The court disregarded initial statements not implicating AAP leaders, further suggesting a politically motivated case.
